Woven backed carpet. Woven backed carpets are in a traditional style with a hard wearing backing made by the carpet pile being woven into a primary backing material. Ideally used in low traffic settings. Performance backing this backing represents a higher standard of backing and delivers more dimensional stability and strength than standard backing. Fusionbac is a unique premium carpet backing.

That is the backing that you will see on probably 90 of the carpets you look at. Fusionbac carpet backing combines advantages of these materials. Woven backed carpets should always be fitted over any underlay and a good underlay can enhance the feel and insulation of your carpet. This eliminates the need for a secondary backing usually hessian or felt leaving a flexible easy to fit carpet.

Pile refers to the height of the fiber and is also referred to as face or nap. Jute is the old fashioned backing which high quality carpets would have boasted.
